Computer and measuring systems, their design and diagnostics continue to improve in models, methods and tools in accordance with their specific applications, which are directly reflected in the requirements imposed on them. Modern design process is characterized by high efficiency and operability and offers various optimization modes, many of which can and should be improved and expanded addressing the new challenges of modern development. Green technologies, features of distributed systems, diversification of circuit solutions and other factors require further research and development. The design of computer and measuring systems is inextricably linked with their diagnostics, which is carried out according to the requirements of the checkability of circuit implementations. The stages of their life cycle are accompanied by test support, taking into account the testability of the circuits and the capabilities of testable design. The period of exploitation of computer and measuring systems and their components is supported by methods and means of on-line testing, which also serve as the basis for building fault-tolerant structures used to ensure the functional safety of critical systems. The latter makes checkability an important element in transforming fault-tolerant solutions into fail-safe ones.
