The 21st century society is a digital and technological society, in which connected technology infiltrates in all aspects of daily life. Wireless communication, social media, online education, virtualized online life are only few of the aspects of this new era. The “Internet of Things” (IoT) refers to the growing range of everyday objects acquiring connectivity, sensing abilities, and increased computing power.
The connected world, which is promoted and realized in all domains of society, challenges technologists to define an efficient and effective layer of interaction with all devices, combining user expectations with functionality of systems.
The human-machine interfaces for this communication between technology and the user is the point of discussion in this stream, and the impact and use of it in educating technologists and engineers for the future.
The special stream provides a discussion forum for recent advances in this area, addressing both theoretical and applied implemented approaches.
